INNER LIGHT 内なる光 SARAH BRAYER Solo Exhibition

The characters for 光明院 Komyo-in refer to moonlight, so this was the perfect place to exhibit my Moon and Luminosity series.

Forty works were exhibited throughout the temple, opening a beautiful Shigemori Mirei garden. Screens, scrolls, paintings, and the paperworks in the Luminosity series were shown on the first floor.   A gallery of intimate works was on the second floor.

In the main meditation hall (Hondo), there was a unique Luminosity gallery where viewers witnessed this series in different lighting conditions. The exhibit had a timed entrance with a musical soundtrack and special lighting.   The exhibition expressed the light that resided within us and was particularly timely with the pandemic.
